For us, transparency and education are the most important building blocks for greater sustainability in the textile industry. Therefore, it is important to us that our customers understand and know how their clothing is made. We regularly visit our producers in Portugal and maintain a very friendly relationship with them. Our collections are created in the small town of Barcelos in northern Portugal. Short distances, wonderful people, fair working conditions , and just a few minutes from the beach.
In eastern Turkey – more precisely in Kahramanmaraş, in the southern part of Anatolia – you will find the fields that enable our garments to be produced in the first place. And this cotton is certified organic. This means it is grown in fields without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or defoliants. You can see what it all looks like here: Organically grown cotton
In Portugal, our second home, the yarns from Turkey are then sewn into your garments in several steps. We always particularly enjoy being here, as we have grown to love the country and its people over time. You can see the production steps a garment goes through in the following video. Enjoy!
After our organically grown cotton, which is cultivated in Turkey, has been spun into yarn, it is processed into high-quality fabrics.
Yarn becomes fabric.
Dye is essential. However, the truth is that dyeing fabric is very labor-intensive and involves a high water consumption. Our dyeing facility tries to counteract this by circulating the water, collecting it in a large tank and then treating it and returning it to the cycle. Furthermore, no harmful chemicals are used in the dyeing of our fabrics.
Just a few kilometers from the dyeing plant is one of our sewing workshops. Here, the finished, dyed fabric rolls are cut into individual pieces and then sewn by hand in many small steps to create the finished garments.
CECILIA, GRACINDA, ROSA, CONCEICAO, ADRIANA, NUNO, PAULO...
...and many more of our friends in Portugal stand behind your garment.
They'll be happy if you feel comfortable in it, treat it with care, and wear it for as long as possible. That's what truly makes you sustainable.
